Web design for small businesses and communities
I'm based near Grantham in Lincolnshire, but you can be anywhere.
I’m a freelance web designer providing all the components that you need to get a website up and running. I work in WordPress and specialise in smaller sites for business and community groups. My focus is on simplicity and speed to give your customers the best possible visitor experience.
My goal is to achieve a web design solution that meets your objectives in respect of appearance, price and timescale. To do this I start by discussing those objectives and then, throughout the build process, I make sure that you have access to your site as it develops. This ensures that there are no surprises and that if changes are needed we can tackle them promptly.
Sleaford and District Twinning Association
I have recently been working with the Sleaford and District Twinning Association to update their website. Sleaford in LIncolnshire is twinned with towns in France and Germany. The site allows them to document their activities and plan new ventures. The site is put together in WordPress as usual. However I have used, for the first […]
Sleaford Neighbourhood Plan
I have just completed work on a new website for the Sleaford Neighbourhood Plan. I say completed but in reality this will be a live project for over a year and during that time there will be regular updates and additions. It is the third site that I have worked on in connection with a […]
Website Redesign - GIB Consultancy
I completed a new website a couple of weeks ago. This time for GIB Consultancy. It's run by Stuart Gibbon, a former senior police detective. Stuart provides a crime writing consultancy service and offers safety advice to the wider community. He is also an author. The site is straight forward, providing an insight into the […]
This site was recently completed for a business that services and repairs electrical appliances. It is a straight forward brochure site containing relevant information about the business. One aspect that is slightly different is the map showing the service area covered. This was created by inputting a postcode data layer into Google maps. There is […]
Operation Repeat is an ongoing police campaign targetting elderly people who are vulnerable to a variety of criminal scams. I was asked to build this site by the company that delivers training to the police forces that participate in Operation Repeat. There are many occasions when I advise clients to cut down on text and […]
Red Penguin Nottingham
I recently built this site for a tech company based in Nottingham. Red Penguin provide managed IT services and VOIP telecoms. The website homepage details the key services provided by the company. It also endeavours to draw the visitor towards their most important products. It features a promotional banner which delivers key information about current […]
This site deals with the problem of crime perpetrated against vulnerable people, particularly the elderly. The site owners provide simple crime prevention messages where they are most needed.
This is a classic brochure site that is a good example of what can be achieved using my starter package with prices from £500.
The site is optimised for speed and the homepage will load in under half a second.
This is a community website built for the village of Allington in Lincolnshire. It is focused on a specific event over three days in July. The event had grown to the point where it needed its own website to provide information and updates.
This event website contains information about artists and timings for a three day music festival and car show. It is easy to update and the homepage now features registration forms for next year's event.
This is a site built for a local citizens advice bureau. The style follows the corporate branding requirements of the parent organisation. It's principle objective is to provide fast access to help and support through various channels.
On the homepage there are pop ups to direct people seeking advice by telephone or in person. There are also prominent links to further advice from the parent organisation and a webchat facility.
This is a good example of a standard brochure site with a few extra features.
